I contacted Steven back in September 2022 to do some simple works in my rented property, some bathroom resealing and minor re-grouting etc.... I needed someone local and Steven seemed reliable and responsive at first but he cancelled the appointment at the last minute. He assured me he would rearrange the appointment directly with the tenant. What followed was me trying to chase him up over the following weeks and months, with me sending multiple emails and leaving multiple voice messages before finally getting him on the phone. He said the job wasn't a priority but he'd do it when he was feeling better, which would be soon. I said sure no problem, no pressure. All the while my flat was getting more damp damaged and tenants complaining. It's now 6 months later and he is not responding to my emails. The man is useless, unresponsive and a terrible communicator. His website says no job too small but that's a downright lie. If he can't or doesn't want to do the job, he should just say so and be straight with clients rather than keep them hanging and making them jump through hoops just to reach him. Avoid this man and look for someone more reliable.
100% reliable. Happy to recommend. I'm adding to my review which I left a year ago to add that after having done such a great job for me ( lots of different jobs that come with moving house), I booked him again even though he's 30 miles + outside my area. Steve put together lots of flat pack furniture, mounted TVs to the wall, put up blinds and tiled my bathroom to enable a shower to be mounted to the wall. A pic of his handy work is below. He gives really good advice/suggestions and goes the extra mile. Happy to recommend ????????
Steven and his team did an excellent job of refurbishing my property after it had been neglected and damaged by bad tenants. The approach was very thorough and the results impressive. Steven is highly professional and great to deal with, and I would certainly use Southwark Handyman Services again. Highly recommended.
Used Southwark Handyman as an emergency call out after returning home to find my washing machine had (and still was) leaked through to the below flat. Steven dealt with the problem quickly and efficiently and even took the time to visit and calm down my neighbour and check over her electrics too. Very professional and reassuring, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Communication with Steven started off great and I was really happy to have found a friendly and trustworthy service. I booked my appointment online, confirmed my time and date via email and also received a confirmation email. On top of this, I called a few days before my appointment date to further confirm Steven's services. It therefore came as quite a surprise to find that there was a no show when my appointment time came around. I called to double check everything was ok only to be told that my appointment had seemingly been forgotten and replaced by another job. I feel disappointed and let down by this unreliability and lack of professionalism. I will most certainly not be recommending this service.
