Rooms are simple but functional. Beds comfy and the curtains are a big plus. Plug socks available near the bunk. I booked a bottom bunk and got a reply that it was allocated. Then when I booked in I was given a top bunk. I spoke to the staff and they kindly swapped it and appologied. However when I got to the room someone was in my allocated bottom bunk. Couldn't be changed at 10 pm so I left it. Plus the last under me has taken up all the space at the end of the bunks and at the side. No where to leave me shoes anywhere near the base. But not going to be a comfortable or restful night as I don't like highs. This will likely stop me booking here. Its total luck who is in the room, but I need a bottom bunk if I am to get restful sleep. I'll make other plans in the future.
Our stay here was a few days. Very quiet and peaceful place. You even have your own personal key and without it you cannot get into the lift to your room so very safe, not anybody can come in. Built in showers that are clean and TV and confectionery provided.
This was the worst hostel I've ever stayed at. Not at all a hostel vibe. The staff were rude and unhelpful. I booked 3 beds in a 6 bed dorm and we were all put in different dorms, despite booking weeks earlier and there also being two spare beds in the room of one of my companions. They managed to move just one of us for the second night after we spoke to the manager. In my first room I had a bed by the window and there was no curtain over the window and so I was woken by the light very early. Then the room they moved me to was clearly a lot older, dirtier and the beds were incredibly noisy, if anyone made a slight move, the whole room would know. The taps in both rooms had boiling water in them, I almost scalded myself on the first night and I didn't even have the tap set to hot, it was directly in the middle. Overall though the worst part was definitely the service, we felt so uncomfortable if we had to go to reception to speak to anyone. We tried to find somewhere else after the way they treated us but unfortunately everywhere was fully booked unless you were a millionaire! Will never stay here again.
Rooms were what you would expect from a hostel, basic but clean which was the main thing for us as we just wanted a base to get our head down. Downstairs toilets near reception were gross, far from clean and all blocked that nearly put me off but the room one was fine. Staff were polite and helpful. Location was good, plenty of bus routes, underground near by or London Eye walkable in 20mins. Could do with more lockers as both days we were there couldn't get a locker to leave our bags, luckily I'd drove to London so ended up leaving them in the car. No parking but managed to reserve a space close to the hostel online before we arrived.
In a room with 6 ppl the window could only be opened a few inches and that shouldn't even be legal in a room with no other ventilation. I found the service to be excellent but their system is buggy so it took a while to get my room the first night due to technical issues. One of the bathrooms had a shower that worked for 14 seconds at a time and you had to click the button every time for another 14 seconds of water. The other bathroom had a shower that worked for over a minute at a time and was perfect but there was no window there and it was way too hot due to the heater being permanently on max. True gamble whether or not you get a good bathroom with your room. If the ventilation was better and the price cheaper they would be top score. But they charge approx the same as half of a nice double hotel room so if someone travels with one more person they would have no reason to be here for example. Also they charge you for bringing food but won't sell anything gluten free. The food options for people who can eat gluten is really good though.
